TLI41225 defines the skills and knowledge required for road transport trainers. The qualification is not designed for members of the public seeking to obtain a driver licence. Matrix Training offers the Car specialisation.

This qualification provides a pathway for full-fee paying domestic students who want to complete part of the requirements associated with becoming a professional driving instructor.
The training package has no formal entry requirements. Matrix Training applies the following admission requirements for students entering the program.
This qualification may meet part of the relevant state or territory licensing and regulatory requirements for certification as a Motor Vehicle Driver Trainer. Candidates should confirm current requirements with the relevant state or territory licensing authority.
The qualification provides a pathway to work as a car driving instructor, subject to relevant licensing requirements.
Further training pathways may include heavy vehicle driving trainer or motorcycle trainer specialisations.
The program combines classroom-based and online training with face-to-face practical training using a suitable vehicle that meets relevant state or territory requirements. Units combine theory, demonstrations, practical group development and individual activities.

Apply skills through supported practical activities and vehicle-based training.
Demonstrate knowledge and practical competency across all required tasks.
The course is offered over 26 weeks including holidays and may be extended up to 52 weeks where applicable. The course structure comprises approximately 24 weeks of training and assessment plus 2 weeks of term breaks, with additional self-directed study expected for each unit.
All 12 units must be successfully completed to achieve TLI41225 – Certificate IV in Motor Vehicle Driver Training (Car).

Assessment includes written assignments, activities and practical applications. Students are required to attend scheduled training and assessment activities. Additional support and reassessment are available in accordance with Matrix Training policies where competency is not initially achieved.
Training takes place in an appropriate learning environment with access to a suitable vehicle and the equipment required by the training package.
Flexible payment arrangements may be available in accordance with Matrix Training’s fee policy.
Matrix Training does not accept more than $1,500 in advance as a fee payment. Flexible payment options may include monthly instalments, and fees must be paid in full before certification is issued.

Students who successfully complete all required units receive TLI41225 – Certificate IV in Motor Vehicle Driver Training (Car). Students who complete only some units may be eligible for a Statement of Attainment for successfully completed units. A valid USI is required for issuance unless exempt.
Students must provide a valid Unique Student Identifier unless exempt.
